Preliminary Information on the Deaths of 7 Additional IDF Soldiers & Officers

candle914The ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) informed the IDF at about 06:30 on Monday morning 23 Tammuz that it had intelligence information of an attack planned in Kibbutz Nir Am. Ground forces were dispatched as the movement of the terrorists was detected. There was a measure of confusion for military officials detecting the movement in the brush as the terrorists were dressed in IDF uniforms.

However that confusion ended abruptly when the terrorists fired a RPG rocket at the first jeep heading into the area, killing the four soldiers/officers in the vehicle. The next force to arrive was Nachal soldiers, opening fire at the terrorists along with aerial fire directed at them. Nine terrorists were killed and some appear to have succeeded in fleeing the area, making their way back to Gaza. Simultaneous to the shootout with the terrorists, Hamas was bombarding the area communities with mortar and rocket fire to provide cover for the terror force.

After the terrorists were eliminated the alert remained in effect for hours. Residents of area communities were instructed to remain locked indoors and area roads were closed. Eventually, when it was realized there were no terrorists in the area at large, the alert was called off.

In another incident during the predawn hours, two Golani Brigade soldiers were killed in Shajaia when terrorists fired a RPG into the house they were based in.

The seventh death was another Golani soldier killed by mistaken fire.

The death toll among IDF soldiers in the first four days of the ground operation has climbed to 25. Dozens have been wounded and are admitted to hospitals around the country.

One of the IDF soldiers who was killed in battle today was Staff Sgt.Yuval Dagan, 22, from Kfar Sava. The levaya began at 20:00 in the military cemetery in Kfar Sava.

  1. Because they spare Arab murderers our solders get killed there. Now they sent our solders to go from house to house. Another 7 were killed bringing it to 25. They could have evaporated Gaza from the air if they wanted to. Instead for more than 10 days they were bombing them with fliers and making worming phone calls to leave their buildings. Oy Lanu Hatonu, Oy lanu Poshanu.
Now, even after they sent these poor solders with light weapons into the teeth of these beasts to go from house, they still stop them from fighting full strength because of so called civilians. The death of these 25 soldiers and all the wounded soldiers are on the heads of these generals and government who care about enemy beasts and not about their own. They still bomb empty buildings and empty places with fliers and supply Gaza with everything.

  2. So sad!
Yet all President Obamba and Monkey Ban could be concerned with are the casualties of Gaza!!! The claim of IDF war crimes is coming! Get ready!

  3. Netanyahu and the rest of the Israeli government must realize they will NEVER satisfy their so called “allies” so just give it up! Do what’s gotta get doen and stop endangering our young boys lives. The US Army would NEVER go to such lengths to save “civilians”. It’s not up for debate, they had no qualms about leveling huge apartment buildings in Afhganistan even when civilans got killed. What kind of “civilians” allow terrorists to shoot rockets from their HOMES? What kind of “civilians” allow terrorists to booby trap their homes, to set up copmmand posts in their homes, to ambush soldiers from their homes? What type of “civilians” ignore IDF orders to leave their homes due to impending attack? Only “civilians” who support and encourage terror. Such “civilians” deserve a bullet to their heads too. Now do it!

  4. OY OY OY I can’t take this anymore … how much more of this suffering .. they made a mistake going by foot they should of continued by air… may god DESTROY THESE WILD BEASTS ARABS… MAY OUR FOREFATHERS WAKE UP FROM THIER GRAVES AND FINISH OFFFF

  5. You cannot destroy the concrete reinforced tunnels from the air but you could bring in heavy artillery into the area to knock down all the buildings the enemy is hiding in. Or set huge charges into the tunnels that would blow up everything above ground, as well.
Can you imagine the outrage of all the world, if the IDF acted in a manner such as this, to actually kill all those holed up inside? The “civilians” have been given adequate notice to leave, their fate lies with themselves or Hamas, not us.
Our sons do not deserve to die to save Gazan “civilians.”
This is war and war is ugly, it’s not a propaganda stunt, regardless of how the Western nations want to spin it.
This is a war of Truth against Lies and Good against Evil…let them all take their sides which to support. If they choose wrong, they’ve already sealed their fate.

  6. #8, Yours is the correct response, Baruch Dayan HaEmes.
One feels so frustrated for all the deaths but, as Rav Melamed pointed out, these kedoshim have not died needlessly but “The entire Jewish people are elevated along with those who sacrifice their lives. They add greatly to the Jewish People’s merits before G-d, bringing us closer to Him and raising us spiritually higher as well.”
I, also, intercede to H’ to strengthen the families for their irreplaceable loss.

  7. Well put, UncleMo. “Civilians” is the media’s poor choice of words. They are far form civil.
