  1. BDE – I know everyone is going to blame that article a few weeks ago about the worlds oldest Roshai hashiva – but thats silly I think (mechilas Koevodo of course) – people in there 100s dont live 50 more years

  2. the point is not that they were niftar rather that we were not zoche that moshiach should be ushered in by these great tzadikim

  3. Enough with this silliness. We are putting all Gedolim in danger by blaming other people for the deaths of our Gedolim. Hashem is taking away our leaders due to OUR sins and if we are not getting the message, to do tshuva, but instead blaming a magazine, we might cause the petira of a Godol who was not in that article, like This Rosh Yeshiva, rachmana litzlan.

  4. We are Yesomin without a father. Rav Chaim ZT”L, was SO big of heart and noble of spirit, that at his own son’s Levaya, he was thinking of the plight of women without a Shidduch and asked his son to go before the Kisei KaKavod to beg Hashem to help these women to find their Shidduch. (“Just before he finished his hesped, the Rosh Yeshiva leaned over to the aron and, in almost a whisper, spoke to his son, saying, “Mein tayereh Sholom Rephoel Yehuda, don’t forget your almanah, don’t forget your mother and your daughter and the entire family.” Then he said something that made a profound impression on those who heard him, “Don’t forget alleh Yiddishe techter, all of the Jewish girls that need to find their zivugim. Go to the Kisei Hakavod and say, ‘k’ra roah gezar dineinu – rip up the terrible decree.” Rav Chaim repeated this last thing three times before he stepped down from his hesped. From Rabbi Avrohom Birnbaum of Yated) Who else could be so big of a heart and noble of a spirit to think of these people’s suffering at the greatest moment of pain when his own deceased son was lying in front of him?

  5. Oy, no one questions the tzadikims age. The fact that it was so close in time like everything in this world is hashgacha pratis. Wake up

  6. Article aside, when three of our gedolim are nifar within less than two weeks, Hashem is trying to send us a message. Are we getting the message? We don’t want to have any further reminders’ chalila. I will share an insight l’zikuy ha’rabbim – it’s something we can all work on and halevai it should bring us a shefa of middas harachamim: Recently, my children went out of their way for each other in a B-I-G way. When I think about it, it brings tears to my eyes; there is nothing that bring a parent greater nachas than seeing that their children are there for each other. This brought me to understand on a deeper level that this is exactly what Hashem wants of us – shenih’yeh ohavim zeh es zeh – the greatest nachas that we could possibly give to the Ribono shel Olam is for us to stretch out our necks for each other, refrain from put-downs and lashon hara and even give up on what we feel is our due and be mevater in order to preserve the peace and unity. We CANNOT lose by doing this, even if it appears that we lose some money! Hashem will repay us many times over if we forego for the sake of shalom because there is no greater happiness that our Father enjoys than seeing His children unified.

  7. Dont dissmiss the write up of the elderly Roshei yeshiva as the cause of their demise.there is a concept of Ayin Hara especially Sepharadim believe this, but it is foreign in Litvish circles.Hatzneah Lechet Im Elokecha, meaning that anything precious should be hidden away, shouldnt be advertised too much otherwise Ayin hara can attach itself. You can see this concept by Tznius where the Jewish woman is not exposed but hidden away as much as possible, to avoid Ayin Hara.our Rabbanim are like diamonds, too much exposure causes the power of Ayin Hara. Also not in other magazines, write ups of elderly jews, they were niftar not much later, not neccesaraly rabonim. These recent rabonnim passing away,I believe their demise was directly related to these glorified write ups

  8. hashem ia telling us we should do teshuva and start fighting against yetzer harah in everything no exceptions hashem first did all the earthquakes tsunami and we did not do teshuva so hashem is hitting us

  9. The Ribono Shel Olam is taking away these gedolim from us because… THEY ARE 100 YEARS OLD. Old people pass away!

They should be melitz yosher on us…

  10. n9u7ll
If ayin hara were the problem, why is it that all the people who have fancy houses and cars and who dress expensively and ostentatiously and the women who don’t dress Tzniusdik not dropping like flies?

  11. Latest Update
Levaya in BMG @ 2 PM.
The Rosh Yeshiva should be a Mailitz Yosher on all of us Talmidim , on the Gantz Shtut Cleaveland, on his Mishpacha and on all of Klal Yisroel.

  12. BestBochurInLakewood – Time to open some Mussar Seforim, if you can find the time between posting here and going out with so many girls because of your reputation as being the best bochur.
If they all were 120, then maybe it’s a coincidence, not the way it happenned -different ages and short time span!

  13. Baruch Dayin Emes. We have lost a truly great man. May Hashem have mercy on us and give us the strength to continue on.

  14. To number 17: [#17.says: “The Ribono Shel Olam is taking away these gedolim from us because… THEY ARE 100 YEARS OLD. OLD PEOPLE PASS AWAY!”]
This is EXACTLY the words and the atitude which the Chofetz Chayim zt”l was referring to when he said “People think that there is a “CHEVRA SHTARBERS” (A “DYING CLUB”), a certain group of people who die, ex.OLD PEOPLE,very sick people etc. and it should not cause worry to those of us who are not part of that club!” THIS IS A MAJOR LACK OF EMUNAH AND HASHGOCHO PROTIS!!
Let us use this lesson of the Chofetz chaim to be nisorer to teshuvah and in this zechus these great niftorim zichronom livrocho will beg before the kisei hakovod that Hashem bring Moshiach quickly.
UMOCHO HASHEM DIMA’H MEA’L KOL PONIM

  15. #12 ladler – your comment was the best so far. Thank you.

#17 BestBochurInLakewood – It is true they were all old. It is the timing that shows us that there is a problem; three צדיקים in less that two weeks. If you look in Mesechta Brachot it states – אם רואה אדם שיסורין באין עליו יפשפש במעשיו… פשפש ולא מצא יתלה בבטול תורה… ואם תלה ולא מצא בידוע שיסורין של אהבה הם” (ברכות ה’ ע”א).
What greater יסורין is there than מיתת הצדיקים? As it’s said, “קשה מיתתם של צדיקים לפני הקדוש ברוך הוא יותר מחורבן בית המקדש”.
BTW – perhaps it’s better to change you alias to “aFineBocherInLakewood”. (See Rashi on Parshas ויקרא)

TO ALL WHO ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT THAT ARTICLE ON OUR TZADDIKIM – are you basing you views on statements made by Gedolim or have you decided this on your own? I’m not saying you are wrong, but I believe you are jumping to conclusions without consulting Gedolim. I feel this is wrong to post such believes without asking Gedolim if you are correct.

TO ALL THOSE THAT ARE POSTING, “WE MUST DO TESHUVA!” – What good are your words more than screaming, “THE SKY IS FALLING”? If you want to help then thing of some way YOU need to do Teshuva and then suggesting that others may want to join you in strengthening in this area as well. When the tzibor does teshuva together then it bring זכותים to קלל ישראל.

We should all be זוכה לביאת המושיח במהרה וימינו!

  16. Rav Avrohoom Schorr will be speaking at 12:45 in his Bais Medrash on E. 15 between l&m in Bklyn followed by Yom kippur Kotton Mincha. He asked for people to fast and they will lain by Mincha. It is worthwhile to hear…….. feel him at suxh a time. The hisorirus will probably be through.

  17. Too much blaming and not enough learning. Learn from these great man what to strive for instead of it is a kapora or because they were written up. Learn to daven for our fellow Jews for shiddukim, for panusah, to learn the laws of lashon harah, to daven better, to learn more and to be tznua both men and women. Examples not to talk on the street, or eat on the street, and keep a low key, and not make eye knock out simchas.

  18. Whats scary is not that they were niftar, thats the way of the world. What is scary is that we have no replacements.

  19. #28 what we learn in Berashis before Sara was niftir Rivkah was born. We learn from here just as one light is extinguished another is quickly lit. Here is hoping that all these lights that were extinguished is that HaShem has lit the new lights and that they should emerge quickly as we ask HaShem to send Moshiach quickly for our final geulah up to Yerushayalim Ir HaKodesh and our holy Bais HaMikdash AME

  20. If the aron gets here in time the levaya will be at the Mir Yerushalayim at 2 pm tomorrow; otherwise they are going straight to Har Hamenuchos. BD”E

  21. It is interesting to read all the comments here of everyone with Ruach HaKodesh, who know exactly why all these things are happening. And no less, those like #2, #7, #12, #16, #24, #25, who are sure that the fault lies with the Tzibbur who should do Teshuva. We should always do Teshuva. But who is to say that it was Ayin HoRa, or a lack of Teshuva. Maybe these Tzaddikim also have a cheshbon in Shomayim. Maybe they passed away on account of their own sins. I see I’m the only one to voice such a sadistic, monstrous comment. But great people pass away on account of their sins too. The Tzibbur is not always at fault.

And #28 who is sure there are no replacements, I think he should start thinking about all the Rabbanim he has rejected and he will surely find replacements for himself, his neighbors, his community and all of Klal Yisroel.
