Oil Falls on Speculation Report Will Show U.S. Fuel Supply Rose

Crude oil fell on speculation that an Energy Department report tomorrow will show U.S. fuel inventories increased as refiners boosted operating rates.

Gasoline supplies rose 1.5 million barrels in the week ended June 8, according to a Bloomberg News survey. It would be the sixth straight gain. Refineries probably operated at 90.3 percent of capacity, up 0.7 percentage point from the prior week. Prices rose earlier today on an International Energy Agency forecast for increased world oil demand and falling output in Nigeria.
