Amanda Ward Candidate For Town Of Fallsburg Judge


amFallsburg resident Amanda Ward has announced her candidacy for Town of Fallsburg Justice. She is hoping to replace outgoing Judge Ivan Kalter who will be retiring after 35 years on the bench.. Ward is a lifetime resident of the Town and the daughter of retired Sheriff’s Lieutenant Roland Ward. Her mother Sonia Ward is a retired teacher and former member of the Fallsburg School Board.

Amanda Ward made a name for herself when she made it to the Junior World Skating Championships in 1993 and 1994. She graduated from Wagner College with a Bachelor of Science degree and earned her law degree from Hofstra School of Law. She is currently an adjunct law professor at SUNY Sullivan and the Senior Director of Workforce Development, Diversity, and Training at the Center for Discovery.

Ward serves on the Board of Directors of The Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan County, is Vice President of the Fallsburg Library board, and is former board member of the Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson Board of Directors.

“I have always been totally committed to my community, and I look forward to having the opportunity to serve the Town of Fallsburg in this important role,” said Ward. “I feel confident if I am elected I can be effective and efficient, fair and open minded, and accessible. I think those are the important attributes of a Town Justice. I will strive to be a justice for all.”

  1. An intelligent, educated, fair, super mentch of a person. Can’t think of a better candidate for this position. I just hope that our orthodox voters will come out en-masse to make sure Amanda IS our next Judge in Fallsburg.
