Report: Israeli Planes Attack Sites in Syria

According to a breaking news report on Lebanese news stations, Israeli warplanes have attacked a site in Syria near the city of Homs. Lebanese news site Elnashra reported on Wednesday evening that the attack had hit a location in the periphery of the Syrian city of Homs, an area that had been devastated by the continuing Syrian civil war.

It had previously reported loud soundwaves caused by Israeli jets near the commercial passages in the Lebanese Mountains, followed by a deafening explosion that was heard near the Lebanese-Syrian border.

According to the Almayadeen news site, a news site that is affiliated with Hezbollah, the unconfirmed attack hit a weapons and armament factory near Homs. The site also reported that the Syrian military returned fire from and shot a surface to air missile at the planes from a military base under the command of the 72nd battalion of the Syrian army.

If the reports are confirmed, this would be the fifth time Israel has exchanged fire with Syria in the past month.
