CHANUKAH PRESENT: CNN Fires Chris Cuomo for Role in Brother’s Scandal: ‘Additional Information Has Come to Light’

CNN fired anchor Chris Cuomo on Saturday after details emerged about how he assisted his brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, as the politician faced harassment allegations earlier this year.

The network suspended Chris Cuomo earlier in the week to investigate his conduct, after New York’s attorney general released details showing he was more involved than previously known in helping to strategize and reach out to other journalists as his brother fought to keep his job.

CNN hired a law firm for the review. The firm recommended Chris Cuomo’s termination and CNN chief Jeff Zucker informed the anchor of the decision on Saturday.

The network said that “while in the process of that review, additional information has come to light.” CNN would not discuss that information, or characterize whether it had anything to do with his brother.

“It goes without saying that these decisions are not easy, and there are a lot of complex factors involved,” Zucker said in an email to CNN staff on Saturday.

Cuomo issued a statement on Twitter calling the decision disappointing.

“This is not how I want my time at CNN to end but I have already told you why and how I helped my brother. So let me now say as disappointing as this is, I could not be more proud of the team at Cuomo Prime Time and the work we did as CNN’s #1 show in the most competitive time slot,” he said.

As women came forward accusing former Gov. Andrew Cuomo of harassment, his brother, despite being a CNN anchor, pressed sources for information on the accusers and reported back to the governor’s staff on what he was learning.

He was active in helping craft their response to the charges, according to emails and a transcript of his testimony to investigators working for state Attorney General Letitia James. Her office found Andrew Cuomo harassed at least 11 women.

Chris Cuomo previously acknowledged talking to his brother and offering advice when the governor faced harassment charges. But more detail has emerged about the help he gave. Andrew Cuomo resigned in August to avoid a likely impeachment trial.

  1. Who does CNN think they’re fooling? They all knew – starting with their leader Zucker – what both Cuomos YMS were up to. everyone knows Zucker and his cronies intentionally spread fake news. Unfortunately everyone knows they are left wing Jews.

  2. It’s not that great they fired him. He was the only anchor who stood up for Rittenhouse, and also once had a segment on how biased the UN is toward Israel. He was actually a pretty fair journalist.

  3. I’m no fan of CNN, certainly not of Chris Cuomo, but I think it’s rather sick that they fired him for this. I hope at least he himself recognizes that he was fired because of the leftist woke mentality at CNN that he has been promoting his entire career, and maybe his own sick leftism will be muted

  4. I detest Cuomo – especially brotha Chris – as much as the next guy.. But these headlines that remind me of Palestinians dancing and handing out candies after a terrorist attack are a bit un-Jewish to say the least.
Haven’t we learned from lot’s wife and numerous other admonitions in the Torah to remain dignified ?
It’s not a Chanukah present when someone loses their job / has a family regardless how much of a jerk he was
    ..
glad he’s gone but don’t have to stomp on him on way out like an Arab thug

  5. Lol imagine a guy writing his Hanukkah wish list:
    1. Silver Menorah
    2. New pair of shoes
    3. Chris cuomo getting fired from CNN
    4. Gift certificate to favorite restaurant…

I’m not sure if this makes anybody’s top 1000…

  6. @Stevenn

He’s not the governor. He resigned because he’s a criminal. His brother was fired because he used his media contacts to get the inside track on who’s going to accuse the governor next so they can be ready to smear them.
