Monsey’s Soskin Wins Democratic Primary


vote1.jpgRamapo Legislator Philip Soskin decleared victory last night over David Friedman in the Democratic primary, according to unofficial results. Soskin, 74, was appointed to the County Legislature in 2003, then elected that year to a four-year term. Friedman, 21, head of the Rockland County Young Democrats, was making his first run for office. District 7 includes parts of Kaser, Monsey, New Hempstead, Wesley Hills and Spring Valley.

  1. The candidates name is Daniel Friedman, not David. It’s a shame that he lost, we went to school together and he definately has the skill necessary to become a good leader.

  2. I know Phil very well. He was my father’s accountant 30 years ago and was a great upstanding member of the frum community.
    I’m only sorry there had to be a loser in this race. I will b”n ask Phil to switch parties after the general. Would be great to have him as a Republican.
