Greenfield Condemns Hit-And-Run & Asks Witnesses To Come Forward

Brooklyn – In the wake of a terrible hit-and-run accident, Councilman David G. Greenfield is asking any witnesses to come forward with information that may lead to an arrest.

The accident occurred on the evening of Tuesday, November 1st at approximately 10:30pm. The vehicle, a dark-colored 2008-2012 BMW, struck two twelve-year-old yeshiva students while they were riding their bicycles at the intersection of East 4th Street and Avenue S in Brooklyn. Both boys were hospitalized at Lutheran Hospital for head trauma and leg injuries and have been listed in stable condition.

“It’s tragic and shameful that a driver was involved in such a horrific accident and simply fled the scene,” said Councilman Greenfield. “I encourage anyone who may have witnessed this accident to come forward with details so that the driver can be taken off the roads.”

Councilman Greenfield spoke with Inspector Georgios Mastrokostas of the 61st Police Precinct regarding this accident. The Inspector assured him that the NYPD is doing everything in its power to track down the responsible driver. Anyone who may have seen anything—regardless of how small or inconsequential it may seem—is encouraged to call the 61st Precinct detective squad directly at (718) 627-6220.
