Trump Defends Decision To Have Ivanka Sit In For Him At G-20

President Donald Trump is defending a decision to have his daughter briefly sit in for him at a table with world leaders at an international summit.

A Russian delegate tweeted a photo of Ivanka Trump in her father’s seat beside other world leaders at the Group of 20 summit in Hamburg, Germany, Saturday, sparking criticism from those who felt the move was inappropriate.

The tweet, which has since been deleted, showed the First Daughter seated next to British Prime Minister Theresa May. Chinese Premier Xi Jinping, Turkish President Recip Tayyip Erdogan and German Chancellor Angela Merkel can be seen sitting nearby.

But German Chancellor Angela Merkel brushed it off, saying it was perfectly normal.

Trump tweeted Monday, “When I left Conference Room for short meetings with Japan and other countries, I asked Ivanka to hold seat. Very standard. Angela M agrees!”

Trump also tweeted, “If Chelsea Clinton were asked to hold the seat for her mother,as her mother gave our country away, the Fake News would say CHELSEA FOR PRES!”

  1. Guess he wanted someone to keep his seat warm.
We all need to remember that she is better looking than him and doesn’t look as stupid sitting there.

  2. It’s okay if Elizabeth sends Charles. It’s not okay for Trump to send his daughter. Just as it wasn’t okay for Hillary to run for office based on having been married to a president. Americans are very republican (small “r”), and Trump in part owes his presidency to that fact, and shouldn’t forget it.
