Romney Endorses McCain

rom mccain.jpgRepublican campaign dropout Mitt Romney agreed Thursday to endorse Sen. John McCain for the party’s presidential nomination and ask his national convention delegates to swing behind the party front-runner, according to officials familiar with the decision. Romney collected 280 delegates during his run through the early primaries and caucuses, more than enough to put McCain over the 1,191 needed to clinch the nomination.

  1. The whole system is pathetic. Why should people who voted for Romney now have their votes counted for McCain. It makes no sense to do that. What SHOULD happen is that voters should be given a second and even third choice of candidates in the event that theirs drops out.

  2. who does mitt romney think he is, indorsing other people when he has absoulutely nothing to do with the elections (besides that he was running in it).

  3. Romney merely asked his delegates to switch their votes – no reason for anyone to get hot under the collar.

I think he perceived quite clearly that there is a need for some momentum-building on the Republican side, considering how much excitement about “hope” and “change” Mr. Obama is fomenting on the other side among people who may not be astute enough to investigate the content of Obama’s rhetoric.

Guys – it’s time to get behind leaders who will help ensure the defeat of those who would turn the USA into the SUSA (Soviet…..) and try to dialogue with al-Quaeda.

  4. If enough people continue to vote for Huckabee, McCain will not get the delegate majority he needs to win on the first ballot at the convention.

Then, all delegates will be free to vote for whomever they please.

That’s the only way we will get a real conservative Republican nominee.

Otherwise, we’ll be stuck with the choice of a radical left-wing Democrat (Obama or H)or a liberal left-wing Republican (McCain).
