Stamford Hill, UK: Hate-Graffiti Attack

YW-Stamford Hill Graffiti-002.jpg(Click HERE for photos) Stamford Hill, UK Police are investigating the daubing of anti-Israel slogans on walls in Stamford Hill this week. The words “Jihad for Israel”were found sprayed in several locations around Clapton Common on Wednesday morning. It’s not known whether the graffiti work was timed to coincide with the 60th anniversary celebrations for the State of Israel.

Hackney Council’s graffiti removal team responded promptly to the crime by removing the offending slogans later in the day.

A spokesman for Hackney Police, Superintendent, Alun Goode, said that officers had photographed and forensicated the scenes, CCTV footage was viewed and a canister of spray paint was  recovered.

Meanwhile, a well-known local money changer has been burgled again. Men dressed as shluchim and speaking Yiddish, forced their way to his home on Tuesday. Police liaison spokesman Moshe Friedlander said that the latest incident underlines the need for the community to check carefully with callers to ascertain their credentials.
