Swastikas Found in Kensington Building

hate crime.jpgBrooklyn: Tenants of a Kensington building say they’re nervous and shocked after swastikas were discovered etched onto elevator doors there. The swastikas were discovered scratched into the paint of the first floor elevator door at 645 Ocean Pkwy.

Neighbors told News12 feelings of hate shouldn’t be expressed out in the open.

“If you feel this way, I think you should keep that within your house and not share it with these people,” says neighbor Sylvia Rivera. “We have young kids that are growing up in this neighborhood, and they don’t need to see this.”

  1. I am not surprised at all. Several times while walking down Ocean Pkwy between F & Ditmas, or Ditmas and Cortelyou we were harrassed by a group (girls and boys) yelling anti-semetic and anti-american words at us. They were rowdy and looked very capable of getting violent!! Unfortunately, it was Shabbos and we did not call for help. But there definitely is a group living there in that neighborhood that is not happy with us, religous jews!! (To me it sounded like some of them had a Russian accent.)

  2. There are a lot of Muslims particularly Arabs from Egypt, Gaza, and Syria who live there. They are of course very Anti-Semitic.
