The Lakewood Police Department is actively conducting a bias harassment investigation after a dead pig was found at the home of a local Rov.

The Lakewood Police Department tell YWN that at around 7:00AM on Shabbos morning, police were dispatched to a Treetop Lane home after receiving a call that an unknown person had placed the carcass of a pig at the doorstep of a local Rov. Responding officers and investigators were able to determine that the event had taken place sometime between midnight and 7:00AM.

Lakewood Police, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department as well as several other law enforcement agencies are actively pursuing several leads and hope to bring this to a conclusion very soon.

Chief Gregory H. Meyer would like to remind the public that such acts will not be tolerated.

The Anti-Defamation League denounced whoever left the dead pig behind in a tweet on Saturday.

“This incident is beyond horrifying & should be condemned by all,” the ADL of New York/New Jersey tweeted. “We’re glad @Lakewood_PD is investigating as an ‘apparent bias crime.’ Please share any information with law enforcement so that those responsible can be apprehended.”

Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

  1. oh please it was probably some loser divorced guy that was mad about a how that partucluar rav handled his case. no need to contact the ADl just have the askonim and rabbonim find out who he is confront him in front of a big crowd and 9 or ten people start shouting at him and embarrassing him . hell never do it again

  2. It is safe to assume that this perp is a historian who studied the Churban haBayis and knows at one point, a pig was lowered by the enemies to the Bais haMikdosh for a Korban.

  3. I believe the Rov in question is sometimes involved in family situations.
I would venture to guess that it wasn’t so much a hate crime as a disgruntled person trying to avenge a perceived insult.

To be clear I am diminishing what happened, only to give a pointer in which direction to look.

Also, it wasn’t very nice for the neighborhood kids to sit around and gawk all Shabbos afternoon

  4. I certainly hope it’s someone from inside the Kehilla. That way you can all breathe sigh of relief and not chas vashalom allow sinister thoughts of end of galus in America and beginning of Malchus Shamayim. That way you can all stay in Lakewood forever and not chas vashalom come to Eretz Hakodesh where Hashem is practically begging us to come. You can tell Hashem Thanks but no thanks!
