Nearly 70% of Republican voters say they want President Joe Biden to be impeached is the GOP takes over the House of Representatives in the upcoming midterm elections.
Former President Donald Trump was impeached twice, with over 70% of Americans believing that actions surrounding his second impeachment – the Jan. 6 riot – were crimes. Republicans are now eager to return the favor and impeach the sitting Democratic president.
Overall, 66% of Americans say Biden should not be impeached if Republicans win the House, but 68% of those who identify as Republican do want the president impeached.
“The decision to impeach a president was once viewed as a last resort to reign in a president who pushed or broke through the boundaries of our laws, values and ethics,” said Ttishe Nteta, associate professor of political science at UMass Amherst and director of the above poll.
“Today, impeachment is no longer a final option, but one of many weapons to be used in an era of rampant partisan polarization to gain an upper hand on one’s partisan opponents. With a number of Republican members of Congress calling to impeach President Biden, the chorus will likely grow louder if and when the Republican Party takes control of the U.S. House in 2022,” Nteta said.

1. It is unlikely that the Republicans will have a 2/3 majority in the Senate, so the result of an impeachment would be a finding of “Not guilty”.
2. Most people think it is a waste of time and that the Congress should address real problems instead of acting like kinderloch on a playground acting poorly.

I don’t know if they have grounds for impeachment, even if they could find the numbers. The Constitution says …”shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” Biden’s being incompetent does not qualify. He might, however, qualify for the 25th Amendment, if they can prove he’s not competent like they tried to do with Trump. But then Kamala becomes president, and who wants that? It won’t be easy to impeach her.
Akuperma, of course he will be acquitted in the senate. That is not the point. The Democrats impeached Trump twice, knowing very well that the senate would acquit him. They did it in order to stain his legacy, and in order to make Clinton’s well-deserved impeachment look not so bad. Impeaching Biden would have far more justification than either of the Trump impeachments; the fact that it would further whitewash the criminal Clinton is a pity, but that damage has already been done and this would do very little to make it worse.

The ground for impeach can be found on his son’s laptop and for signing the WHO treaty this week which give control to a foreign group to govern the USA. Decide what a pandemic is, when there’s a pandemic and what restrictions to put in place and who should be locked up in isolation. I’m pretty sure when this takes affect all will agree he should be Impeached.
You don’t need a “reason” or “legal basis” for impeachment. I think the point of the article is that “impeachment” is no longer a serious effort to remove a president from office but rather more of a dragged out process of political theatre designed to highlight partisan messaging points.
There are many grounds for impeachment, starting with his long history of taking bribes, laundered through his son. After all, it’s impossible to believe that anyone would ever want to bribe Hunter Biden; Hunter had nothing to deliver in return for all that money he was given, except his father’s corrupt favors. And we have Hunter’s so-far-uncontroverted assertion to his daughter that his father was taking 50% of everything he made.
Then there’s his criminal abandonment of Afghanistan, including leaving thousands of Americans, thousands of allies, and all that weaponry. That itself would get any other president impeached.

The grounds for impeachment is that GOP voters don’t like Biden. It is the same grounds for voiding election results that don’t elect GOP candidates. The GOP has become an authoritarian and anti-democratic party. They scream constitution but hypocritically ignore it whenever it suits their fancy. Donald Trump who has retweeted calls for civil war and demanded that Mike Pence overturn an election still has wide support among GOP candidates and voters. The good people in the GOP like Joe Walsh and Joe Scarborough have long left and Kinzinger and Cheney are shunned. At least Kemp appears to be trashing Trump’s loser lackey Perdue.
For all those using Hunter’s name to impeach the president, please do not elect Trump in 2024.

If Kamala Harris were to take over, it would not be better for the country. Where as Trump had a better VP. Any rational Republican would have to take this into account.
It will only be “PayBack” if it actually happens, republicans are not united and competent enough to proceed with impeachment, they can learn from the democrats to work together when they want something done.
