Former President Donald Trump took aim at the New York Times on Monday, lambasting the newspaper and its reporters for their coverage of the Jan. 6 hearings.
“The failing New York Times is down 40% year-to-date because they are Fake News. Their reporters are dishonest, and their front page has become a work of total fiction, not news. They hate our Country, and they hate reporting the truth, which is why America is not respected and our Nation has never been weaker,” he wrote in an official statement. “Instead, they obsess over January 6, just like they did over Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax #2, the Mueller Witch Hunt, and Russia, Russia, Russia. The New York Times will continue to decline because people no longer believe their reporting is even close to being true. Fake polls, phony stories, and made-up quotes—they are a disgrace to journalism and have set it back many many years. THE NEW YORK TIMES IS TRULY THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!”
It isn’t exactly clear what specifically set Trump off, but the New York Times has been amplifying every morsel of information – rumor or otherwise – that has been coming out of the Jan. 6 committee and its hearings.

Anyone who disagrees or criticizes him is an “enemy of the people”. He was at war with the NY Tabloids (Post and Daily News) for decades whenever they contradicted his pervasive lying about his business, wives, girlfriends or IQ. He cannot accept criticism w/o striking out like a caged animal. Its always been that way and will continue to the very last day.

Trump has no respect for the 1st Amendment and it critical of all media that doesn’t faun over him. Can he list all the “fake” stories he accuses the Times of publishing? He is also critical of the Washington Post, another highly regarded newspaper. Both papers have also published stories critical of Biden. Publishing news is their job. I can’t recall any other elected official in or out of office referring to media as the enemy since Nixon.
The Times is the only paper that I’m aware of the publishes corrections when there is an error in an article.

The New York Times has been in business since 1854 and has been under the control of the same family since 1896. Trump has never controlled any business for that long or profitably for any length of time. I disagree with Gadolhadorah’s characterization that Trump is lashing out like a caged animal, though I look forward to the day he is caged in jail. His lashing out is more like a 9-year-old child’s. I wonder who cleans the walls when he throws his food it now.

Only an idiot respects the NYT, or the WaPo. They are both garbage papers and have been for longer than most of us have been alive. The NYT has been a garbage paper for at least 100 years! It’s the paper that shilled for Stalin and then for Hitler.
It’s the paper that knowingly published the details of how al Qaeda leaders were being tracked through their phones, how they were being tracked through SWIFT, and the details about CIA Air, all of which damaged the USA.
But Trump in particular has been the victim of these two rags’ vicious lies. From when he won the primary until today it has been nonstop libel and slander. Every made-up story one could think of, and many that no normal person could think of. Starting with the Russia hoax and going on from there. So he has every right to rail against it. He’s 100% right that it’s an enemy of the USA, but it’s in particular his enemy.
