MANCHESTER, UK: A tense scene unfolded at a park popular in the local Jewish community after a Muslim man behaving suspiciously and wearing what appeared to be a “suicide bomb vest” triggered alarm and a swift armed police response.

Manchester Shomrim tells YWN that the incident was ultimately a misunderstanding. The individual was wearing a weighted exercise vest and had no malicious intent.

Despite the alarming appearance and initial panic, officials confirmed there was no wrongdoing and no danger to the community at any point.

Shomrim were liaising with the Chief Police Ispector throughout the entire incident.
