LCSW & LPD Looking For Vehicle Stolen From BMG Parking Lot

lcsw.jpg4:00PM EST: The Lakewood Civilian Safety Watch (LCSW) tells YWN that they just received a phone call about a stolen car, stolen from BMG (Yeshiva) parking lot. The caller stated he came to parked his vehicle in the BMG parking lot at approximately at 9:30AM this (Tuesday) morning, and when he came out of Yeshiva at 1:30PM the car was gone.

LCSW and the Lakewood PD are on the lookout for a 2005 Silver Toyota Camry, NJ Plate number WVK-37X.

If anyone sees this vehicle, or has any information which can assist in its recovery, please call LCSW at 732-276-2779, or the LPD at 732-363-0200.

In a related story, two other vehicles were stolen in Lakewood during the two weeks. In both incidents, the cars were recovered and the drivers arrested. LCSW tells YWN that in both incidents the cars were easily stolen because the keys were left inside the vehicles.

LCSW reminds all readers (in any neighborhood) that they should never leave their car unattended, even for a minute.

  1. If you value your car, perhaps from recent readers writes on Yateds you don’t, but why leave keys in your car? I’m surprised more cars haven’t been ‘stolen’.

  2. THE REAL PROBLEM IS THERE IS NO PARKING IN BMG SO OUT OF DESPARATION PEOPLE TAKE ANY THING FOR A SPOT ,TEMPORARY PARKING WERE YOU HAVE TO LEAVE YOUR KEYS IN THE CAR DUE TO YOU BLOCKING ANOTHER CAR OR EVEN THE FIRE LANE WERE TICKETS ARE GIVEN EVERY DAY

  3. He was probably in a hurry to get to yeshiva and blocked someone in. So the other guy was in a hurry on the way home so he borrowed his car. He will return it tomorrow morning.

  4. joe the thinker- There should never be a reason for one to park in a Fire Lane. When someone’s home and all their belongings, and God forbid their lives are perished, will it still have been worth it? Think about such a scenario before parking in a Fire Lane. Don’t be so selfish as to only think of getting a ticket if you park there Illegally.

There have been many car burglaries in Lakewood. Either they left the keys in the car, so the perp made his way with the car. Then there were those who left a window opened, or a door unlocked and the thief would steal GPS, EzPASS, and other valuables. But, lately these criminals have become bold, and they are breaking car windows to steal any items from the inside of the car, and to look for the “emergency” key to drive off with an innocent person’s car.
