NYPD Sees Threat in Israel-Iran Tensions

nypd1.gifThe New York Police Department has quietly prepared plans to beef up security at the city’s synagogues and other Jewish sites in case simmering Israel-Iran hostilities escalate.

The department’s intelligence analysts believe the city could become a target for retaliation by terrorists if Israel ever tried to take out Iran’s nuclear facilities.

The NYPD revealed for the first time this week that it already took similar precautions in 2008 following the killing of a senior Hezbollah commander in a car bombing in Syria.

There have been no specific threats reported against the city during the Jewish holiday of Pesach.
