  1. THE TIME HAS COME AND IS WELL OVERDUE FOR THE YIDDEN IN LAKEWOOD TO TAKE THESE INCIDENTS SERIOUSLY AND TO TAKE ACTION, DEFEND YOURSELVES, PROTECT YOUR MISHPACHA AND STAND UP. YES WE ARE IN GALUS BUT WE NEED NOT BEND OVER TO OUR OYVIM. OVER AND OVER LAKEWOOD AVOIDS ANY REAL RESPONSE AND ACTION, AD MASI, OY VEY!!

  2. You are 100 percent right!! However in yeshiva land they will tell you its a mitzva not to defend yourself….we heard that before around 50 years ago when 6 million Jews died.
    KAHANE CHAI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. It is a tradition for Litvacks to be passive, this is one of the well-known European character traits that was imported from the European ghettos to the gates of America. ‘a zuchen vey’

  4. #1) nowhere in the article does it say that this was a yid. If indeed it wasn’t, what exactly are you taking action about?

  5. By the way Gra in this weeks parsha happens to say that we “mase Avos Simin L’Bunim” we learn out that even though Yackov was stronger then Eisav he still would only fight “al corcho”.
I hope we all agree that if this is where the Litvacks tradition comes from it from a pretty good place (the Gra is brought down in the Weinreb chumash Hagra)

  6. To #7

Of course you only fight if you have to! What does that have to do with allowing ourselves to be gassed in the ovens and shot on a regular basis, would you call that bal corcho you big lamdan??

  7. Part of the solution would be to be careful. I see Yidden walking late at night on isolated streets who are putting themselves in a dangerous position. Not being physically intimidating or skilled in self defense does not make for a good formula to be walking down Clifton Avenue at 1:20am, alone.

Perhaps putting up street cameras throughout the town, like they did somewhere in Vermont, I think, should be put to a vote, and implemented. Those benefitting from incentives to be in the industrial park (the second largest in NJ), should foot the bill.
