Report: Al Qaeda May Be Turning To Body Bombs

What happens when the terrorists surpass the technology used to catch them?

A report from Britain says the latest al Qaeda threat is something called “body bombers” — and it’s exactly as it sounds.

Body scanners are supposed to be the security answer to terror plots.

London’s Heathrow Airport introduced them just Monday. Experts said they could have detected the explosives Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab had sewn into his underwear on Christmas Day before he boarded a U.S.-bound plane. But already, terrorists seem to be a step ahead.

British secret service reports there is an al Qaeda plan to surgically implant explosives into human bodies. It says men would have the explosives inserted in their appendix or buttocks. They could be detonated with a liquid filled syringe, simple enough to get on a plane.

All you have to do is claim you’re a diabetic or have a medical need. It’s very easy to get one on board, an expert told CBS2 HD.

Hiding explosives inside the body is the same technique used successfully for years by drug traffickers with so-called drug mules.

  1. If they claim to be a diabetic, they should be required to have a doctor’s note. AND the airport security should be able to verify the validity of the note. Or maybe planes should now have a full medical staff on board with their own medications to administer and not let any meds on board. Oy- what next???
No matter what we do, they’ll have a plan. But we must know that Hashem has His plan. We need to daven and improve ourselves.
    May Hashem protect us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. If terrorists are a step ahead of the technology, then those who make the technology are possibly supplying the terrorists with the antidotes. This really is like some story where merchants of destruction play both sides.

  3. please, there will always be some doctor who will prescribe medication– the Fort Hood terrorist was a psychiatrist. Maybe they’ll make a pharmacy in the airport and sell the meds at 100x the cost like they do with water etc. OR maybe the TSA will finally start using common sense and train workers to read facial expressions and recognize suspicious behavior.
