Novominsker Rebbe to Address 47th Pirchei Agudas Yisroel Siyum Mishnayos

The Novominsker Rebbe, Rosh Agudas Yisroel, shlit”a, will, iy”H, address this year’s Pirchei Agudas Yisroel of America’s 47th Annual National Siyum Mishnayos, al shem Harav Yehoshua Silbermintz, zt”l.

The Siyum will be taking place this Sunday, April 25, at The Palace in Borough Park, and will celebrate thousands of Mishnayos learned throughout the year by elementary-age yeshiva boys in the United States, either through the Kesser Mishnayos program or at their local Pirchei branches.  Present as well, be”H, will be 30 boys who have completed Shisha Sidrei Mishna and who will take part in a special bechina preceding the Siyum.  They will also be honored with places at the dais, as well as with a special gathering in their honor to be held in June, at which they will receive a Shas.

This year’s Siyum is dedicated to the memory of two Gedolei Yisroel who were niftar this past year: Harav Zelik Epstein, zt”l, Rosh Yeshivas Shaar HaTorah; and The Bostoner Rebbe, Harav Levi Yitzchok Horowitz, zt”l.

The Siyum will feature a special video presentation on the life of Rav Avrohom Pam zt”l Rosh Yeshiva Yeshiva Torah Vodaas.  Rabbi Fishel Shachter, Rebbe, Yeshiva Torah Vodaas and renowned storyteller, will serve as the event’s Master of Ceremonies.

Divrei bracha will be delivered by Rabbi Chaim Dovid Zwiebel, executive vice president of Agudas Yisroel of America.

The Siyum Mishnayos, the premier Torah event of the year for boys, has been inspiring budding talmidei chachomim yearly since its inception 47 years ago.  Mechanchim and baalei batim alike have warm memories of past Siyumei Mishnayos they themselves attended; now they take pride in the Siyumei Mishnayos-attendance of their children and grandchildren.

Tickets and further information can be obtained from the Pirchei Office at 212 797 9000, ext. #274

  1. i remember the good old days when all you needed to get in was a a perek mishnayos by heart and free admission to the siyum .
today they charge admission because no one wants to raise the funds for it.

  2. A special hakaros hatov must be mentioned about the late Rabbi Eli Teitelbaum to whom the Pirchei Siyum Mishnayos owes much credit. Yehi Zichro Baruch.

  3. Pirchei used to be a real vibrant movement which really accomplished so much. Today in New York it hardly exits. Its time for all the Agudah people to make Pirchei a priority. If The agudah had a vibrant Pirchei it might not need to have a Project Yes.
