A man is sneaking into apartments in Manhattan and assaulting women, police told WNBC on Tuesday. Police said the man has struck at least twice in the Washington Heights neighborhood. In both cases, they believe he climbed the buildings’ fire escapes and entered the apartments through unlocked windows.
Police released a sketch of the man in an appeal to the public to help track him down. Anyone with information is urged to call Crimestoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS, or 911.

Use fire-dept gates on fire escape windows and lock it when away and while asleep! Don,t use the old cheap gates. Keep some defense item near you (small gun,pepper spray or even a full can of insect killer spray.
