Important Voting Information For Brooklyn Voters

3:50PM EST: YWN has received the following information from knowledgeable poll watchers on the street in Brooklyn right now:

1- you can only vote if your registered in the NY 9th Congressional District. If you are unsure if you are in NY-9, see the note below. You will not be allowed to vote of your not registered.

2- There are 2 separate elections in Brooklyn on 2 separate ballots. One Special Election for Congress and 1 for civil court judge. We are receiving reports that some  elections workers are deliberately steering voters away from the Special Election table.

3- you can only vote for one candidate.
Do not vote on 2 party lines. For example:
Bob Turner is running on the Republican line and the Conservative line. You can only choose one line or your vote will be disqualified.

IMPORTANT NOTE: To find your polling location, or to see if you are in NY-9 CLICK HERE.

YWN reminds voters that the Polls close at 9:00PM.

  1. In my polling place the two poll workers had the books reversed and they told that I was not eligible to vote in the special election only in the primary. I went to poll site coordinator and he got them to switch books, at that point I was eligible to vote in the special election and not the primary.

  2. It is important to complain when not allowed to vote or if you think there is something fishy. There are reports that supporters of the national democrat party are out in full force to “make sure” they don’t lose. What we saw in Philly on election day 2008 was not an accident!
