Hundreds Of NYPD Officers Gather At Bronx Courthouse In Support Of Indicted ‘Tix-Fix’ Cops

Police union officials say 16 New York City officers have surrendered to face charges in the probe into allegations of police corruption, including ticket fixing.

The officers and five other people were awaiting arraignment Friday in the Bronx.

About 500 NYPD officers have amassed at the Bronx courthouse to show support for the cops indicted in the ticket-fixing scandal.

A hundred or so officers are waving American flags, chanting and protesting.

One officer in the crowd said, “I’ll tell you this. The relationship between this department and the district attorney’s office is never going to be good after this.”

Joe Alejandro, Treasurer of the PBA, addressed hundreds of officers outside the courtroom : “We want to show as much support as we can and line the halls.”

He also urged all Bronx delegates to sit in the front rows. PBA president Pat Lynch and all the other top officials from the cop unions are here.
