Two Sifrei Torah were R�L destroyed in a blaze that took place on motzei first day Pesach in Eretz Yisrael, on Jerusalem�s Kapach Street.

Firemen arrived to find a working fire, which B�H they brought under control but only after the fire was brought under control did they realize the magnitude of the tragedy as two Sifrei Torah had been destroyed. A number of people were treated on the scene for smoke inhalation and then transported to a local hospital.

After the blaze, the Sifrei Torah were moved to a neighbor�s home until a decision is made regarding levaya arrangements. The fire led to structural compromise and inspectors have barred residents for their own safety.
