New Yated Leadership Opts for Kosher Internet

The new leadership of Yated Ne’eman in Eretz Yisrael has disconnected from the internet that was used in the officer under the old management. Ironically, the newspaper that presents itself as the voice of gedolei yisrael was hooked into the non-kosher internet. Kikar Shabbat attributes the change to the recent meeting of the Degel HaTorah Moetzas Gedolei Torah and the addition of new rabbonim.

There was also an addition of new rabbonim to oversee the running of the newspaper, which was the direct link to the decision to cut off the regular internet service and move to kosher internet.

HaRav Yehoshua Eichenstein, Rosh Yeshivas Yad Aaron in Yerushalayim was appointed to the vaad rabbonim to oversee the newspaper along with HaRav Avrohom Broida, a Bnei Brak dayan and one who is close to HaGaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita. They will supervise the newspaper along with veteran vaad members HaRav Moshe Aaron Braverman, HaRav Nosson Zuchovsky, and HaRav Chaim Kupshitz.

It is reported that Rav Broida ordered the immediate disconnect from the regular internet and the move to the kosher filtered internet.

Kikar Shabbat adds that one of the changes seen in the erev shabbos edition by the 15,000 subscribers was the title “Maran” that was added to Hagon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita and Hagon HaRav Nissim Karelitz Shlita. The report adds the Ponevezh Rosh Yeshiva Rav Gershon Edelstein was also to be added to the “Maran” list but when the rabbonim conferred with Rav Edelstein, he stated this title is for gedolei hador and he does not see himself in this category.

It should be pointed out that the “Maran” title has already been granted by the newspaper to HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Halevy Wosner Shlita as was evident from a recent article. One should not think the gadol hador was excluded from the decision.
