High Court Orders Desegregation in Eilat Public Schools

As a result of the intervention of Israels High Court of Justice, the children of foreign nationals living in Eilat, non-Jews, must be mainstreamed into public school classrooms with the children of the citys residents. An agreement was reached by which they will be gradually integrated into classrooms in the southern citys public school system.

Students of the foreigners will be in classrooms within the regular classrooms and they will take an achievement test in six months which will determine if they can enter the regular classroom environment.

MK (Ichud HaLeumi) Dr. Michael Ben-Ari decried the High Courts involvement and he calls on parents to boycott the decision, which he realizes will RL significantly contribute to intermarriage and assimilation in the city.

  1. They are talking about the secular schools, not the Jewish schools. The truth is that many secular Israelis prefer their children to associate with non-Jews rather than frum Jews.
