Sunday night, the eve of 29 Tishrei 5773 begins the yahrzeit of the Tanah Cohen Gadol Shimon HaTzaddik ZY”A. A yahrzeit seuda will be held at the tziyun in the Shimon HaTzaddik neighborhood of eastern Yerushalayim. A large tent is being erected at the complex towards accommodating many wishing to participate. The seudas mitzvah will begin at 18:00 following mincha.

On Monday at 13:00, the tzibur will begin reciting all of Tehillim at the tziyun and a number of mekubalim are expected to take part in the tefillah event. A band will be on hand on Sunday night as well as many children are expected to arrive with their parents for their chalaka/upsherin.

Refreshments will be available for the many expecting to visit the tziyun during the yahrzeit and Egged and Jerusalem light rail officials promise to increase service to facilitate getting to and returning from the tziyun.

In keeping with his minhag, the Tolner Rebbe Shlita will be among the prominent rabbonim playing a leading role in the event.
