Three Children Injured in Jerusalem Motor Vehicle Accident


On Tuesday afternoon, three children were injured in a motor vehicle accident that took place on Neve Yaakov Boulevard in the northern Jerusalem neighborhood of the same name.

United Hatzalah volunteers and MDA personnel treated the injured children at the scene before transporting them to the hospital. The eldest, age 11, was moderate to seriously injured. The two younger children, ages 8 and 5, were light to moderately injured.

United Hatzalah volunteer EMT Yechiel Stern described the incident: “The accident took place between a private car and the three pedestrians, two young girls and a young boy. Together with other United Hatzalah ambucycle volunteers as well as other EMS volunteers who live in the area, we provided first aid treatment to the injured children prior to the arrival of the ambulance.”

Magen David Adom spokesperson’s office issued the following statement: “A car hit three pedestrians on Neve Yaakov Boulevard in Jerusalem. MDA EMTs and paramedics responded and treated three children while transporting them to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital.”

A police spokesperson said: “The private vehicle hit the three pedestrians while they were crossing the street on Neve Yaakov Boulevard. MDA transported the injured to Ein Kerem hospital. The driver of the vehicle was detained for questioning at the scene. A specialized traffic investigator headed to the scene in order to open the inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the accident.”
