The IDF continues to increase the force patrolling the borders of Lebanon and Syria, adding standing forces as well as reservists. Last week the Oketz K-9 unit also took up position. Officials report the increasing number of “shepherds” and “farmers” seen along the border are actually spies gathering information on the IDF.

Yisrael Post quotes a “military source” saying the only situation that can occur along the border is “a continued deterioration of the situation and the IDF is ready for any eventuality.”

The source adds that Hizbullah is well-aware that Israel will respond hard to any attempt to disrupt the quiet that prevails. The IDF Spokesman’s Office did not wish to comment on the report.
