The Vaad Yeshivos is scheduled to convene on Tuesday evening 16 Adar 5773 at 19:00. A number of Gedolei Yisrael Shlita are expected to take part, including HaGaon HaRav Aaron Yehuda Leib Shteinman Shlita and HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Halevy Wosner Shlita. The meeting with take place in Rav Shteinman’s home at 5 Chazon Ish Street in Bnei Brak.

The rabbonim will select a new director of the vaad following the petira of HaGaon HaRav Asher Tannenbaum ZT”L. It appears the post will go to HaGaon HaRav Chaim Aaron Kaufman, a son-in-law of the niftar. The rav, who is 52, serves as the rav of Jerusalem’s Maalot Daphne neighborhood. Rav Kaufman, described as a chossid who attended Litvish yeshivos enjoys a wide based consensus and this among his other traits, make him an ideal candidate for the post.
