Ella Valley Building Plans Result in Protest against Chareidim

constnAbout 150 residents of the Ella Valley and Beit Shemesh protested outside the home of Interior Minister Gideon Saar on Tuesday afternoon, 2 Menachem Av 5773. They are angered over the permits given for the construction of 15,000 housing units for the chareidi tzibur, asking why the other sectors of the city are being ignored. Protestors explain there are non-frum and dati leumi residents in Beit Shemesh as well, yet the master plan addresses the needs of the chareidim only.

Protestors and attorneys acting on their behalf add the plan lacks the approval of the national government. In addition, they feel the planned housing will deliver a fatal blow to the local environment.

  1. On the other hand, in Petah Tikva thousands of permits for housing units were given to Dati Leumi but none to charedim. Maybe the charedim should protest outside the home of Interior Minister Gideon Saar too.

  2. There is room in Yeshah for a few million Jews to live comfortably. It is only the insanity of the Torah haters that is preventing annexation and full development of the country. There is no need to fight over land development. As soon as there will be a pro-Jewish Government in Israel, there will be enough building space for everyone.

  3. why do you post articles to cause trouble..
    1. this has NOTHING To do with chariedim!!!
This is a beautiful nature and biking reserve… 2nd most popular in the country…
    2. This shouldnt be up for discussion before elections!! Let the new mayor decide… Current city management approved gimmel and daled without ample schools, mikvas, shuls or shopping!! – the new candidates all have promised to put a hold on new construction until current mess is cleaned up
