MK (Yahadut Hatorah) MK Moshe Gafne on Sunday night the eve of Tu B’Av 5773 will be addressing a Meretz Party forum to explain all that is wrong and bad with the government’s 2013-2014 state budget. The event will be held at 19:00 in Beit Tzioni America.
Now that Gafne and Meretz share the title of being in opposition, the former chairman of the Knesset Finance Committee will use his wealth of experience to explain the intricacies of the state budget to the left-wing party in the hope of amassing a formidable opposition to the state budget.

The Hareidim (Yahadut ha-Torah and Shas) are LEFT WING PARTIES if you look at economic policy. While the Hareidim have “right wing” sympathies on security matters, the key national security issue for the hareidim is conscription (how to prevent conscription of the bnei yeshiva). The left wing parties include many individuals who wouldn’t mind ending conscription. Thus Gafni talking to Meretz should be seen as both parties “sounding each other out” about a possible future alliance (united on support for the Israeli generous welfare state without regard to its economic impact, combined with abolition of conscription).
Hopefully UTJ will form an alliance with Meretz, Labor and the left to form a new government when Netanyahu IY”H falls and a new majority government is formed.
So let me get this straight,its ok for gimmel to join forces with the “tzadikim” in meretz,but not for bennet to join with lapid.???
The Meretz Party is a left wing anti-religious party. Until Yesh Atid came along, Meretz was considered the main opponent of the chareidim. I’m not sure if this alliance is such a good idea.
SHAS has participated in also and degel in the hisnatkut they are both left wing partys on everything. Now that deri is the boss it will be even more then when yishai was the boss
#3 Meretz and Lapid are the basically the same “tzaddikim” but Lapid the rasha ben rasha’s MAIN AGENDA and MAIN GOAL is uprooting Torah and destroying yiddishkeit once and for all.
