Holland Joins Ban Against ‘Settlement’ Products

isbFollowing the lead of another major Israeli ally nation, Britain, the Dutch government has called for labeling products sold in stores that originate in “settlements”, which refers to Yehuda, Shomron, the Golan Heights and eastern Jerusalem.

Authorities in The Netherlands explain that it is not illegal to import such products but they must be appropriately labeled before being placed on store shelves, in line with the newly-announced European Union ban.

The directive from the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs went out to stores to explain the new policy, citing it is illegal to sell such products without permitting shoppers to know the location of origin.

The decision by Britain and Holland to join the EU economic boycott sends a resounding message to Israel in addition to significantly tightening the economic noose around Israel’s neck.

  1. 1. It’s not a boycott, yet. Anyone who doesn’t object to Israel’s control of the West Bank can buy, and those who do object probably have been boycotting Israeli good for some time.

    2. However if the conscription crisis leads to massive resistance, mass arrests, and some hareidim requesting (and receiving) asylum in the EU, it will greatly strengthen the hand of those who want government sponsored boycotts of Israel. Remember that under international human rights law, religious objectors to the military are a somewhat protected class (and anti-zionist hareidi probably qualify, as opposed to some of the more modern hareidi who are anti-Arab, pro-war but don’t want to fight personally).

  2. Jerry, I’m in full agreement. It’s funny, and quite immature, to see people and countries say they will boycott Israel. In truth, they think skipping out on purchasing Bamba and Israeli grape juice is considered their boycott and slap in the face.

  3. May I suggest to all Jews that you do more Talmud Torah, more davvening and more deeds of kindness—and be wary of all goy including me, the Dutch, the GERMANS, all of Europe and the Americas–including Obama.

HaShem will decide the goy’s fate and Israel’s as
    well.

Have faith in the Creator and not mankind.
