De Blasio Opens Big Lead In NYC Mayoral Poll

debBill de Blasio holds a sizeable lead in another New York City mayoral poll, solidifying his spot as front runner in the campaign’s final sprint.

A poll by Siena College and The New York Times released Friday shows that De Blasio, the public advocate, is the choice of 32 percent of likely Democratic voters.

Ex-comptroller Bill Thompson is at 18 percent. City Council Speaker Christine Quinn is at 17.

If no one captures 40 percent of the vote in the Sept. 10 primary, the top two candidates advance to a run-off three weeks later.

The poll of 505 likely Democratic voters has a margin of error of 4 percentage points.

De Blasio held a similar margin over Quinn and Thompson in a Quinnipiac poll released earlier this week.
