Opponent Rips De Blasio Over Lack Of Affordable Housing

lhodebRepublican New York City mayoral hopeful Joe Lhota is criticizing Democrat Bill de Blasio for his role in Brooklyn’s sprawling Atlantic Yards development.

The project received taxpayer subsidies and includes the Barclays Center, the home of the Brooklyn Nets. It is also supposed to create affordable housing, which has fallen behind schedule.

Lhota, a one-time deputy mayor to Rudy Giuliani, claims that de Blasio has been “absolutely silent” on the lack of affordable housing. He also suggests de Blasio was “bought” by the project’s developers. One co-chaired a birthday party for the Democrat.

De Blasio, a public advocate who has a commanding lead in the polls, defends his position and said he will pressure developers to create the housing.

The general election is Nov. 5.

“De Blasio, a public advocate who has a commanding lead in the polls, defends his position and said he will pressure developers to create the housing.”

Just remember…BeBlasio had a MAJOR role in the development of the Atlantic yards. He is only promising pressure because he is being called on the carpet

If DeBlasio wasn’t running for office, he would have remained conveniently silent.

So much for the reliability of DeBlasio and his MANY promises.
