Jonathan Pollard, 59, was arrested by US authorities in 1985. On November 21, 2013 he will begin his 29th year of imprisonment. He is the only person in US history to receive a life sentence for spying for an American ally.
Rabbi Pesach Lerner recently made another appeal for Pollards release as he approached the completion of 28 years of imprisonment.
Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi David Lau and Rishon LTzion Yitzchak Yosef have released tefilos to be recited on Pollards behalf (See letters in extended article).
Deputy Knesset Speaker MK Moshe Feiglin also makes an appeal to release Pollard.
