Following tradition, Mayor Bill de Blasio was officially sworn in during an intimate ceremony at 12:01 AM today. The swearing in was officiated by Attorney General Eric Schneiderman at the Mayor’s home in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
The Mayor was joined by his family — Chirlane, Chiara, and Dante. He will be sworn in tomorrow by President Bill Clinton in a public inauguration ceremony at City Hall at noon.
Tonight’s proceedings were live-streamed on NYC.gov and still photographs are available on the Mayor’s Office Flickr page — continuing the Mayor’s commitment to ensuring his inauguration is an event that is accessible to all New Yorkers. The Mayor’s office additionally arranged pool print, photo, and video coverage via Associated Press and NY1. Associated Press print notes are available below.
