Cabinet Extends the Tenure of Police Chief Yochanan Danino


daninoThe cabinet on Sunday voted to extend the tenure of Israel Police Chief Yochanan Danino for a fourth year, until May 2015. The cabinet accepted the recommendation of Public Security Minister Yitzchak Aharonovich, who felt during this difficult period it would be wise to avoid changing police chiefs. The minister spoke of the worrisome situation in the Mideast, as well as the situation in Israel, the ongoing negotiations with the PA (Palestinian Authority), the immediate security threats facing Israel, and various projects the department is involved in.

The cabinet also extended the tenure of Israel Prison Authority Chief Aaron Franco.
