Protest Planned Outside the Office of Yated Neeman

yatedThe dati leumi community has had enough of the insults appearing in Yated Ne’eman and a protest is planned outside the newspaper’s office. The announcements refer to the newspaper’s insults against talmidei chachamim and roshei yeshiva. The protest will take place outside 109 Jabotinsky Street in Bnei Brak.

One of the organizers is Netai Morgenstern, who explains “I am fed up with those who uproot Torah – Yated Ne’eman. I mean really uprooting the Torah – they are Reform and they have stopped to keep the mitzvos of the Torah. They insult entire tziburs of rabbonim and they write anything that pops into their minds”.

Morgenstern explains that even before they began referring to Rabbi Chaim Druckman Shlita without the title “rabbi” the newspaper would insult Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef ZT”L, Rabbi Shmuel Auerbach Shlita and the Lubavitcher Rebbe ZT”L. but not just rabbonim, soldiers as well…”

Morgenstern explains that after the Million Man Atzeres he believed that Maran HaGaon HaRav Aaron Yehuda Leib Shteinman Shlita took control and the insults would stop, but this is not so. “They try to tell us the Yerushalmi faction is nuts while we have learned people close to Rav Shteinman have taken control and he does not hear what is going on for it is known the rav seeks shalom and achdus”.

“I can no longer remain silent amid people who eat for free, and insult people without boundaries and are constantly busy with making war towards seeing who can throw the worst insults against the dati leumi community. I can no longer remain silent when they call the very soldiers who stand watch to protect us ‘those who run for devarim beteilim’ and of course, it is all in the name of ‘gedolei yisrael and the Torah HaKadosha’”.

Organizers stress the protest is not sponsored by any organization, yeshiva of political party, simply by “Am Yisrael, those of us who share the burden of Torah, the IDF and the economy”.

Maariv quotes Tzfas Chief Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu Shlita saying “The chareidim are the ones that should be protesting against Yated, not us. They (Yated) are harming the camp from within. Even Rav Shmuel Auerbach Shlita has been declared illegitimate”.

  1. ok – so these guys are very open about it that it’s the same people who feel Hesder Yeshiva is better then full time Yeshiva, that we don’t “share the burden”. They are basically quoting the slogan minted by the left wingers.

They couldn’t care less about the Kavod of Rav Aurbach and Rav Ovadia (lbchl”ch). – They know good and well that those hoodlems who ran the paper have went on to ‘Hapeles’, and these aren’t the same people.

  2. Rabbi Eliyahu, they never said Rav Aurbach is illegitimate.

I guess the Dati Leumi should protest against Tzohar, which to them even you are illegitimate… Why not worry about your own mess.

  3. If the Charedim want help from the Datim in stopping Lapid’s agenda, they might want to shut down the Yated along with some of the toxic rhetoric that just appeared in a video. Why should any Dati Jew support Charedi causes when the reward is to be insulted and delegitimized?

  4. I think yated did a terrible thing with the attack against Rabbi Druckman. All it did was allienate those who were from that community who were interested in supporting the atzeres. Yated and their constituency are not. the only ones who lost on this. The dati-leumi community willl lose as well. There is an old saying in politics. Be nice to people when you are on ghe way up because you will see them agIn on the way down. Rabbi Druckman’s comments were incendiary and extremely divisive. This took place at a time when Rav Shteineman was showing everyone and teaching everyone what unity is all about. Both sectors will pay a very heavy price if thid infighting continues.

  5. some of the Israeli ‘charadi’ newspapers are so into politics that their observance of being political surpasses their observance of mitzvas.

and what is worse that this political ‘uber alles’ stuff has even found its way into the beis medresh and surpassed Torah there too.
