9 Members Of Lev Tahor Cult Stopped In Trinidad Return To Canada

lev-tahorPolice say nine members of the Lev Tahor cult who left the country amid child custody proceedings only to be stopped in Trinidad and Tobago have now been returned to Canada.

Peel Police Sgt. Dave Housdon says the Lev Tahor members landed at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport Saturday at 10:30 p.m. and the six children were placed in the care of the Children’s Aid Society.

Housdon said the three adults were being processed by the Canada Border Services Agency.

At least two Lev Tahor families left Canada for Guatemala last week, but some of them were stopped in Trinidad.

Early last week, an Ontario judge issued an emergency order that 14 Lev Tahor children be placed in the care of children’s aid but police said Thursday that most of the children had left the country.

About 200 members of the sect — 114 of them children — settled in Chatham, Ont., last year after suddenly uprooting from Ste-Agathe-des-Monts, Que.

Child-welfare authorities in Quebec spent a year investigating issues related to hygiene, health, and allegations that the children weren’t learning according to the provincial curriculum.

Late last year, a Quebec court ordered that 14 Lev Tahor children be placed in foster care.

The group has denied all allegations of mistreatment.

  1. Did anyone notice the time of arrival in Canada? Lev Tahor traveled on Shabbos. They flew away from Canada to be Michalel Shabbos….great cult!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. I would say this much, “the fact that the children are on a hunger strike proves to all of us that this is a real CULT”. They are brainwashed to give up their life for the cult leader, as they do in all of the cults.

Lets remember that these kids from Lev tahor are used to not living with their parents, that’s a standard punishment in their community.

Punishments include: beatings of children, forced marriages between members of the community, marriage of minors as young as 14 to men 40+, achieving compliance through pain, denial of food, violent separation between parents and children from as young as the age of six months, complete isolation from family, so why are they on a hunger strike, only because they where told to do so by their cult leader, Mr. Erez shlomo helbran, he says to them “give up your life for me, I’m the greatest thing on earth”. yeah sure!
