Rambam Medical Center MDs Angered Over the Lack of Parking

rambDoctors employed in the Rambam Medical Center in Haifa held a one hour protest meeting on Monday, 12 Iyar 5774 between noon and 13:00. The doctors explain they are not permitted to park their cars on hospital grounds. They add that the policy negates promises made to them in the past.

The Israel Medical Association has intervened on their behalf, telling hospital administration one cannot expect doctors and surgeons who spend their lives under immense pressure and constantly work to save lives to begin their day looking for a parking space.

The hospital recently began construction on its new underground parking lot which will serve as a fortified hospital in time of war. As such, those parking spaces have been temporarily lost and doctors are compelled to park a 15-20 minute walk from the hospital. What has elicited their ire is learning only 200 parking spaces are being allocated for 5,000 employees, including physicians.
