Lakewood: Mosdos Encourage Day 2 Of ‘No-Bus Drill’

buIn a letter to parents on Wednesday, the Mosdos wrote that “the drill that took place today was truly a kiddush Hashem as all parents followed the directive and cooperated with the protocol of the drill it was a true show of ACHDUS.”

“Data was taken in regards to the traffic and school attendance for a 9:00 am start time. We ask your patience for one more day of the drill which will give our officials a clearer picture of the traffic patterns in town.”

According to Police reports, says the Igud, access was very difficult on some main streets in town as expected. “Township official’s alleviated as much traffic as was possible.”

“Based on data that was retrieved from many schools, there was less than a 50% of students in class at 9:30 am. Some parents chose to transport their children earlier while some waited for traffic to ease and therefore many students were not in class until close 10:00 am which caused the classes to be disrupted.”

The letter added, “We strongly urge all parents to leave on time and attempt to have their child in school at 9:00 am. We realize that some parents may want to leave earlier as per their schedule; we therefore will have supervision on school premises from 8:40 am.”

“Wishing all a safe trip tomorrow (Thursday), and hope that the outcome of the drill will serve us good in the future.”
