Israel Police officials have asked Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein to take the necessary steps to remove MK Hanin Zoabi’s parliamentary immunity to permit advancing with a criminal investigation against the Arab MK. The request from police was made after the MK refused to report for questioning when instructed to do so by the Yahalom 433 Unit, Israel’s FBI. She explained that as an MK, police do not have a right to question her.
Among the charges Zoabi is likely to face are insulting a public official and incitement to violence.
