  1. It may not look pleasant to you YECHI but the animals are not in “pain” – they’re not בצער!
    You must be a city kid and not used to the scene! Chickens are very resilient. I’ll concede that there might be a nicer way to handle these birds but don’t call it צער בעלי חיים.
    The תורה strictly forbids causing צער to animal and the גמרא says that צער בעלי חיים is a דאורייתא. The חכמים would never have instituted this אלטע מנהג if it would bring about איסורי דאורייתא. Go now and have a גמר חתימה טובה.
