Ramapo Police Arrest Four Suspects Minutes After Committing Gunpoint Robbery In Pomona


rpdThe Town of Ramapo Police Department tells YWN that they received a 911 call reporting a past armed robbery on Sunday night. The robbery had occurred about 5 minutes before the 911 call. The caller told police that it took place in front of 3 Sherwood Ridge Road, in the Village of Pomona. Ramapo police officers arrived and began their investigation.

The victim had some swelling to his face and was treated by Rockland Paramedics. The victim stated that he was lured outside of his residence by a person known to him when he was attacked by two other males. The victim stated that one of the unknown males displayed a black handgun. The other unknown suspect then punched the victim and took his cell phone. The three suspects then entered a light colored vehicle and fled. The victim supplied a last known address for the known suspect. Officers responding to the address did not see any vehicles matching the vehicle described. Officers returned about 10 minutes later and found the known suspect and three other males which matched the victims’ descriptions of the other suspects. Ramapo Police detectives were called in and began their investigation. The reported stolen property was found at the suspects’ residence.

All four males found at the known suspects’ residence were brought in for further questioning and investigation.

The Town of Ramapo Police Department was assisted by the Rockland County Sheriff’s Dept. Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Rockland Paramedics.
