Prior to the Tekuma Party voting to accept a deal and remain with Bayit Yehudi, the party’s rav, HaGaon HaRav Dov Lior Shlita explained that if the party does not vote to comply with his decision to break from Bayit Yehudi and move to Eli Yishai, he will resign and join Yishai’s party.
Rav Lior explained that Eli Yishai is the party he will back for the latter is working to unite chareidim, the dati leumi and chardal communities and it is essential to back this efforts. The rav stressed the importance of partnering with a party that is seeking to combine those elements of Am Yisrael who objectives are L’Shem Shomayim.
His words went unheeded and the central committee voted to accept Ariel’s recommendation and continue in Bayit Leumi. Rav Lior is expected to announce he is now going to align with Eli Yishai.

ariel actually also wanted to join yishai’s party
For the hareidim to unite with the hardal and dati leumi, there would have to be an agreement to do at least one of the following: 1) end conscription and professionalize the army; 2) treat yeshiva learning as alternative service; 3) allow those with any sort of religious or conscientious objection to serving in the military to be exempt.
As long as the Hardal/Dati Leumi haskafa sees defending the Medinah as a mitzvah, that isn’t possible.
Good choice RAV Lior. Your many Talmidim, families & backers will cast a vote for Yishai-a worthy candidate.
Oh, please, #3, the only thing that Yishai/Deri/Shas/whatever the new party is called wants is more money for its constituents and more power. The do not care anything about what is best for the state or the rest of the country. Good riddance, and these two parties will drown each other in hatred and disappear.
There are chardal who view Tzahal the same way that any chareidi does and who don’t send their children to it.

They are not CHarDal (Charedi Dati Leumi) if dont believe in the state they are simply Charedi.
