Chairman of the Central Election Committee retired Supreme Court Justice Salim Jubran has banned Bayit Yehudi Tu B�Shevat packages, labeling them �electioneering�.

Bayit Yehudi used its Facebook page to get the word out, that party activists would be distributing tens of thousands of the packages on Wednesday, Tu B�Shevat.

Someone decided that this is not permissible, and the planned campaign was challenged with a call to the Central Election Committee. The person explain such actions were contrary to the state�s electioneering laws which prohibit the distribution of gifts by a political party. He added that the packages are a form of bribery which party officials hope will influence perspective voters.

Jubran agreed, prohibiting the distribution of the packages nationwide.
