PHOTOS: Two Cars In Boro Park Have Wheels Stolen Overnight – Vehicles Left On Four Milk-Crates (Photos By Dee-Voch)

c2All four tires were stolen off two vehicles in Boro Park overnight.

One incident happened on 47th Street and 15th Avenue, and another on 49th Street between 12th and 13th Avenues – both in the heart of Boro Park.

The person who stole the tires left the vehicles propped up on milk crates.

According to authorities, this isn’t the first time something like this has happened in Boro Park, and definitely not in Williamsburg – where there was rash of these incidents a few months ago.

Boro Park Shomrim remind everyone to call police and Shomrim’s 24 hour hotline if you have any information which can assist police in this investigation. Additionally, Shomrim remind people that they can get “lug locks” for your vehicle.

Custom wheels, can cost several thousand dollars. But lately, those aren’t what thieves are looking for. They’re after 18-inch stock rims, straight from the factory, on a particular type of Honda – the Accord Sport. Thieves have been targeting mostly Hondas, but they also steal rims and tires from Infinities and Toyotas.

  1. What about the security cameras? Can’t they be checked to see who is driving around in the middle night. Figure out a time frame and check those hours.

  2. This is not a “new” kind of crime. Over 45 years ago the same thing was doneto my father’s car in upper Manhattan.

  3. Criminals are getting lazier. In the past it was cinder blocks, now they can’t shlep anything heavier than a milk crate?
