The prosecution has declined a request from attorneys of former Chief Rabbi Yonah Metzger, who wishes to fly to Europe to take part in a family simcha. The prosecutor fears Rabbi Metzger will seek to flee prosecution if permitted to travel abroad. The rabbi’s willingness to forfeit a sum of money as collateral did nothing to persuade the prosecution to change its mind.
Rabbi Metzger faces charges including fraud, bribery, conspiracy, money laundering and tax evasion.
Police are completing the investigation against Rabbi Metzger, who will likely face a serious multicount criminal indictment for his alleged illegal actions, much of which included his fundraising for mosdos during his tenure as Chief Rabbi of Israel.

Why is this article so important to publish? There is a lot of different things going on these days. Why was this article picked out? If we want Hashem to take us out of this bitter, painful Galus, I think we need to become better people.
And what does the Court say? Surely the prosecution do not have the final say here.
If the accusations are true this is a major Chillul Hashem.
